Easy Half Treble Crochet Tutorial (htr) For Beginners

Half treble crochet in the US is a stitch taller than double crochet (DC) but smaller than treble. It has the same difference as the half-double crochet has with the double crochet (pulling more loops at once). However, if you want to learn treble, you should first learn this stitch. So, we have brought this step-by-step half-treble crochet tutorial to guide you. Let’s get started!

Instructions to do half treble crochet (US)

Below are the instructions for each step involved in crocheting the treble crochet.

  1. Make a foundation row with the chains.
  2. Turn your work and make 4 turning chains. You will need the special number of chains at the beginning of the second row to get a height equal to the treble crochet. It will be counted as a stitch.
  3. Yarn over twice (two times) and insert the hook into the next stitch (the stitch with which the hook is attached is not counted as the stitch).
  4. Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have four loops on the crochet hook.
  5. Yarn over and pull through the first two loops. You will have three loops on the hook.
  6. YO and pull through all remaining loops.
  7. Repeat the steps from 3-6 for the next stitch and keep going.
