Instructions for Crocheting Crunch Stitch

If you are an intermediate crocheter, you can easily learn from the instructions below:

  • Crochet the row of foundation chains in multiples of two and one turning chains ( 2x + 1).
  • Row 1: Insert the hook into the second chain and perform one slip stitch here. In the next chain, crochet one half-double crochet stitches.
  • * Across the whole row, keep repeating one sl st and then hdc.
  • Row 2: After completing the first row, turn the work and crochet 2 turning chains. 2 turning chains because you will repeat * in reverse across the whole row. This means you will start the row with hdc, then sl st, then hdc, then sl st, and so on.
  • Row n: With this principle, repeat * as it is for the odd rows (the foundation row is not counted here) and in reverse for the even rows until you get the required height. Moreover, you will also need to crochet turning chains according to the stitch that will come, which will need to be crocheted in the first stitch.
