Easy DIY Business Card Holder For Your Office

A DIY Business Card Holder is an affordable, fun, and inventive way to keep and display your business cards. It’s a handmade project using easy-to-find materials that you can modify to suit your taste or business needs. If you also have a business or want to create a personal gift for a friend, this DIY guide will teach you how to create a multipurpose stand quickly. The stand is more than just for cards; it has two compartments: one for your cards and another for keeping pencils and other items. So, start this magical project!
Materials and Tools:
- Chipboard pieces in various sizes:
- 4 x 6
- 4 x 6 ¼
- 2 x 1 ¾
- 1 x 1 ¾
- 2 ¾ x 1 ¾
- 1 ¼ x 5 ¾
- 2 x 1 ¼
- Designer paper
- Tape
- Glue
- Bone folder
- Scissors
- Gold letters (optional)
- Business cards
Make the Back:
Start by cutting the 9 x 6 designer paper to cover the 4 x 6 chipboard piece for the back of the holder. Fold the excess paper over the edges and tape it down.

Cutting the excess paper:
Cut the excess paper using a blade after sticking the paper properly to the chipboard.
Folding the paper:
You need to fold the paper around the edges of the chipboard and smooth out any wrinkles using the bone folder. This will help create clean and crisp edges for your business card holder.
Making the Base:
Repeat the above process for the holder’s base, using a 5×7 inch designer paper and a 4×6.25 inch chipboard piece.
Make the front box:
Now tape a piece of 8 and 3/4 inch paper to two chipboard pieces: one measuring 2 x 1 and 1/4 inches and another measuring 1 and 1/4 x 3 and 1/4 inches.
Cutting the excess paper:
After gluing the paper on the chipboard pieces, cut the excess paper using a blade.
Shaping the box:
After completing the previous step, you will have a flat, simple length. Now, fold this length to shape it into a box. Be gentle in this step, as more pressure can tear the paper.
Make the last box:
Repeat the above step using a 6×6 designer paper and two pieces of chipboard measuring 1 x 1 and 3/4 inches each, as well as another chipboard piece measuring 2 and 3/4 x 1 and 3/4 inches.
Assemble the Holder:
You are almost done with this DIY project. Simply add the glue on the raw edges of the front box to the back panel. You can use scotch tape to hold the pieces in place or be gentle as the glue is not dry yet.
Add the Back Panel:
Now glue the back panel to the base using the glue. Hold the structure firmly for a few seconds until the glue starts setting.
Add the final box:
Repeat the previous step with the final box and you are done with this multifunctional rack.
Decorate (Optional)
- Glue gold letters onto the front of the holder.
- Glue a business card onto the desired location.
- Let the glue dry completely before using the holder.
The Final Look:
Congratulations! You have created your own DIY business card holder with your own pretty hands. Place it on your desk, be it at your home office or your workplace. Now, your business cards will always be within convenient reach in this stylish holder, making a great impression on anyone who sees it.
