• Thick cardboard for the stand
• Uhu glue

Cutting the Edges with Pinking Shears:

Now, we will tidy up our paper by cutting the edges with pinking shears. This not only neatens the paper but gives it a decorative edge.

Paste the Printed Calendar Month on the Paper:

This is where we adhere our printed month onto our prepared paper. Ensure it is centered and lays flat to prevent any crinkles.

Repeat the Above Steps 12 Times to Make 12 Months:

To create a full year’s calendar, repeat the previous steps for each of the 12 months. Try using different color combinations for each month. You can also enhance the funky and playful look of the months by adding various stickers and embellishments.

Cutting the Cardboard:

Next, we will cut our cardboard to the desired size. This will be the backing of our calendar.

Marking the  Cardboard: 

Measure and mark where you will fold the cardboard to create the stand. Also, denote where the holes will be punched for the wire ring.

Drawing the Straight Lines:

Using your ruler or scale, trace straight guide lines on your cardboard, following the marks made to ensure accuracy when folding and punching holes.

Folding the Cardboard Using Scale:

With your scale as a helper, fold the cardboard along your drawn lines. The scale will help you fold the cardboard cleanly and maintain straight edges.

Adhering the Paper Sheet on the Cardboard Using Glue:

In this step, we will skillfully cover the cardboard with a sheet of crafting paper to give it a professionally finished appearance.You need to place the glue all around the length of the cardboard and then place the crafting papers.

Pasting All the Sides:

Double-check that every side of each calendar page is fully adhered to the cardboard. Any loose edges could make your calendar less sturdy and reliable over time. Paste all the extra sides of the paper to the cardboard using glue.

Marking the Cardboard for the Calendar Months:

Estimate the positions where you’ll punch holes to insert the wire ring. Make sure they align from month to month for smooth transition and aesthetics.

Making Holes Using Punch Holes on Both Sides:

Carefully punch holes in the cardboard using your hole punch at the spots you marked. The holes should be large enough to braid your wire through for assembling the calendar months.

Securing the Ends of the Cardboard: 

To make your calendar self-standing, you’ll need to create a triangular shape with the cardboard. Apply adhesive at the ends of the cardboard and press them together until affixed securely.

Making a Ring of Wire and Adding Finishing with the Ribbon:

Now, you’re going to make a ring using wire. Use a glue bottle or any other round object as a guide. Make your ring more appealing by tying a ribbon all around it.

Securing the Rings:

Thread your wire ring through the punched holes across all calendar pages. You may twist or lock the ends of the wire to keep pages secured together yet easily turned.

 

Adding the Stickers and Embellishments:

This is where you can have some fun. Personalize your calendar by adding stickers, drawings, or other embellishments.
