Easter Kids Craft: Pipe Cleaner Plastic Egg Bunnies

Easter Kids Crafts: Pipe Cleaner Bunny EggsToday I’m teaming up with one of my favorite online magazines, FamilyFun to bring you a super cute Easter kids craft idea using inexpensive supplies that you probably already have at home. These Pipe Cleaner Plastic Egg Bunnies will have your entire family crafting and laughing together. Isn’t that what holidays are all about?

Here’s how to make these bunnies.

Gather the following supplies: pipe cleaners, plastic eggs, glue, white pom-poms, and a black permanent marker.

1. To make one, bend a pipe cleaner in half. Open the plastic egg and push the ends of the pipe cleaner out through the two holes in the top of the egg.

2. Bend each end into an ear shape, then inset the tips back through the holes.

3. Cut a second pipe cleaner in half.

4. Fold on piece in half and insert each end out through the holes in the base of the egg. Form each end into a foot.

5. Glue a white pom-pom to the back of the egg, low enough so the bunny can lean against it.

6. Add an expressive face with permanent marker.

Happy Easter!

Easter Crafts & Decor – DIY or Buy

Who doesn’t love Easter? My mother always made Easter a magical holiday.

We would wake to gifts from the Easter bunny, put on our brand new Easter duds, and attend a beautiful church service. Then we would come home to an Easter feast full of friends, family, & the neighborhood kids of course. Everyone looked forward to gathering at my house for the grand Easter egg hunt each year. It was spectacular! My mom would have over 1,000 eggs of all kinds (candy, plastic, and hard boiled) for the adults to hide and lots of prizes were given out for the most eggs found and even for the least eggs found. The prize egg was the most coveted; it usually had a $20 bill inside and an additional prize came with it. Every year we would search and search for the 10 or so missing Easter eggs that remained but we would never find them. Eventually, dad would end up running over them with the lawn mower.

I also have memories of my parents buying real baby chicks at Easter for us to play with and keep. I don’t have children of my own yet but I hope to carry on the tradition of making Easter a magical holiday in my house one day too. After all, HE IS RISEN and that’s the reason to celebrate, decorate, and observe the season.
