Smokey Tex-Mex Burger (As Seen on GMT)

Tasty grilled beef burger with cheese, guacamole and pickled peppers. Dark background, brown paper, wooden stand.

If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, you may have seen my live cooking segment on Good Morning Texas where I showed viewers how to make a Smokey Tex-Mex Burger. We also talked a lot about butter.

Minerva Dairy butter, in fact. Minerva Dairy is in the Amish country in Northeastern Ohio. It’s America’s oldest family-owned cheese and butter dairy, producing 84% butterfat butter from cows raised on family pastures. These are happy cows, y’all. I know firsthand because I actually lived near this dairy in the Amish community a few years ago as a newlywed. Yes, you heard that right. I lived in the Amish Country! It was the most beautiful land I have ever seen. The grass is so green it looks like a fantasy. Minerva Dairy cows eat that grass as the roam freely around the pastures and that’s how I know they are very happy.

If you’d like to buy Minerva Dairy butter, the best butter in the USA, visit MinervaDairy.com for store locations and online ordering. Local friends can purchase it at Old Town Market in Lewisville. It’s a cute mom and pop store that has been around for 40 years. Old Town Market specializes in fresh-cute choice meats and the best BBQ around. You’ve got to check it out! Even if you don’t live near Lewisville, it’s worth the drive!

If you’re interested in more about my time on GMT, I will have a video clip and a recap on the blog soon! On to the burger recipe.
