Bright & Cheery Fabric Wreath DIY

Fabric Wreath TutorialI can’t get enough of spring’s bright and cheery colors! I’m sure you feel the same way. Well girlfriend, I’ve got the perfect little addition to add even more sunshine to your decor. You must go fabric shopping and complete a fabric wreath DIY pronto! Here’s how.

Spring Fabric WreathPick up half a yard of delightful fabric, a wreath form in your desired size, a hot glue gun, burlap garland for hanging, enough ruffle trim to circle your wreath twice, and embellishments. The embellishments I used were all items from my jewelry chest and my closet but craft stores will have similar items to purchase.

Fabric Wreath DIYSpread out your fabric and center the wreath on top of it. Cut a perfect square leaving a couple of inches on all sides.

Fabric Wreath - Bright & CheeryCut a tiny hole in the fabric in the middle of the inside of the wreath form. Create triangle slits in the fabric as shown. Wrap the triangles tightly around the wreath and secure them with hot glue one by one.

Fabric Wrapped Wreath - Bright and Cheery - The Newlywed PilgrimagePull and glue your way around the wreath. Trim where needed.

Fabric Wrapped Wreath - Bright and Cheery - The Newlywed PilgrimageTake your ruffle trim and glue the base of it about an inch inside the inner rim of the wreath. Make sure that you glue the base allowing the ruffle to flare outward. A small dot of glue every 1/4 inch or so seem to adhere the best. Once you’ve glued the entire outer ruffle and cut it off, you can begin to glue the inner ruffle.

Fabric Wrapped Wreath - Bright and Cheery - The Newlywed PilgrimageGlue the base of the inner ruffle trim just below the base of the outer ruffle. That sounds confusing but the photo above is a pretty good demonstration. Now all you have to do is add your embellishments to the wreath and hang it using the burlap garland. The double ruffles will mask any imperfections that the wreath has. Thank goodness!
