Romantic Movies for Valentine’s Day

This post has been sponsored by Hallmark Channel. All opinions are my own.

You’ve helped the kids make valentines, volunteered to host a party at their school, and even picked up some candy and sweet little V Day gifts for the family. You’re feeling pretty accomplished until “the question” enters your mind and it always comes last minute, doesn’t it? “Hmm, now what are me and my husband going to do for Valentine’s Day?” May I intercede here and give you a fool proof idea?

Have a date night in this year and watch some romantic movies! Let me tell you (or show you rather) how the hubster and I will be celebrating Valentine’s Day.

Being the perfect Valentine doesn’t mean that you have to spend a ton of money or do something extravagant. It should be about spending quality time with your loved one. My husband and I try to make it a point to spend Valentine’s Day together, alone each year. He always goes out of his way to make me feel special by setting that day aside to be with me and only me. It has become one of my favorite holidays! What do you do to make your Valentine feel special?

Join the countdown fun by sharing your Valentine’s weekend plans on social media using #CountdownToValentines and @HallmarkChannel. Do you plan to watch the premiere of Anything for Love

Mason jar valentines are a ton of fun to make. They’re even more fun to give because a medium sized mason jar will hold a 10 oz. bag of candy. That’s a lot of sweetness! Your valentine will be extremely happy with the  amount of candy they receive. Plus, these valentines are gorgeous. Don’t you agree?

Two Berry Creative Craft SuppliesSimply gather some mason jars, purchase a few essential craft supplies, and you’re in business. I ordered my craft supplies for these mason jar valentines from Two Berry Creative. They have really cute stuff for pennies on the dollar compared to big craft stores. [Read more…]

Gervasi Vineyard Valentine’s

Being that we got engaged at a vineyard in Napa Valley, it made perfect sentimental sense to spend our very first married Valentine’s Day at a vineyard. Luckily, there’s a beautiful vineyard within an hour of our small Ohio town, Gervasi Vineyard.

Gervasi VineyardGervasi Vineyard is located in Canton, Ohio. It’s a gorgeous place and I highly recommend it for any special occasion if you’re in the area. Our wine tasting was lovely! I think that we both agree that the Luce Luce Pinot Grigio was our favorite wine of the evening. The Truscano, a Sangiovese blend comes in second.

On to food. We enjoyed the bruschetta trio antipasti and the winter salad to start. My husband had the Tuscan beef short ribs and I had the Manzo Italiano. Mine was the winner, but only slightly. We finished our meal with hazelnut brownies and vanilla bean gelato.

Earlier that day, we exchanged Valentine’s Day gifts. Aaron surprised me with beautiful bouquet of red roses, chocolates, and a sweet teddy bear.

Valentine RosesI surprised him with a Superman Valentine Lollipop Bouquet that I made, fun Superman gifts, and Reese’s Peanut Butter hearts.

Superman Valentine's DayHe also got a kick out of this t-shirt that I ordered from etsy. I have a feeling it’s going to be a loungewear staple for me.

Loves Her Husband ShirtI hope you too had a blessed Valentine’s Day and that next year, you might just consider a vineyard Valentine’s. Xo

A Valentine from God

If God were to send a valentine to his beloved (that’s me and you), I would like to think that it would look something like this…

A Valentine from God

or this…

A Valentine from God

Isn’t it amazing to be loved this much?

There is no greater love than His. He invented it!

As Valentine’s Day draws near, let us remember the One who loved us first and He who will love us last.

Paper Hearts Banner

Sometimes when life gets busy a girl still wants to decorate, but she just wants a simple craft. Inexpensive and simple? Even better. Procrastinator friendly? Yes, please! I knew that I wanted to to add a little Valentine’s Day love to our house but I did not want to get involved in a difficult craft project and I didn’t really want to spend any money.

Solution: Paper

Paper Hearts Banner
I had several sheets of Valentine scrapbook paper leftover from years past. If you don’t have any lying around the house, you can always get some cheap pink & red paper from just about any store. I used a heart stencil and I traced hearts onto my paper. I cut them all out and I punched two holes in the top of each heart as shown below. I used some ribbon that I had, again just “lying around the house” and I strung it through the holes to create a heart banner.

I made three banners and they really brightened up my dining room with some Valentine joy!

Superman Valentine’s Day Lollipop Bouquet

Superman Valentine's Printables - Lollipop BouquetWe may not have any little ones quite yet but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have some childlike fun on Valentine’s Day. My man loves Superman and he just so happens to be my favorite superhero too, besides my hubby of course.

I created these Superman Lollipop Valentines that can be given individually or made into a lollipop bouquet. I created the art work for these so you really could just take this simple project and run with it. It is what you make of it! It could be a large project for an entire classroom or a small one, just for that special someone like mine will be. [Read more…]

Two-Some Tunes

Great V Day gift. There has been many a time when this would have come in handy on an airplane. One time in particular comes to mind on a plane when my husband was watching a movie on his iPhone and mine was dead (typical) so we both leaned in close and listened out of one headphone. That might sound romantic to some but the neck crick I got a few hours later says otherwise.
